What defines happiness? In today's society it is often tied to wealth, fame and social status. Yes, instant gratification can be achieved: A new gadget, a raise, winning the lottery, a new job, meeting someone new, going on a date, getting married & having children. Yes, these things are nice, they all bring a certain level of happiness but it is true happiness? To find true happiness you cannot simply find something or someone to complete you, you have to complete yourself first. If you are feeling unhappy alone, bringing someone else into your unhappiness is not going to fix the problem. Change the things in your life that are making you unhappy FIRST! Once you have found happiness in your life, it's so much easier to find someone else to invite into your life.
Happiness does not need to be chased, sought after or put under conditions. For many of us, we have to look at our lives closely and ask ourselves this question, "What can I do to make my life happier?". It is not easy but we have to do this before you can move on to happiness. Often, not adding but removing certain things from lives will help us benefit: The blaming, impressing, clinging, whining, dwelling and fearing. If these habits aren't helping, they're hurting us.
Happiness can be achieved regardless of our possessions or situation. Find happiness within yourself because everything we really need is within. ~ ♚
